Data shows enrolling arrestees DNA into the national database early in their criminal careers has the biggest effect on deterrence and public safety. Although criminal DNA databases have delivered decades of successes and benefits, it is estimated that more than 1 million lawfully owed DNA samples from arrestees are missing from the national DNA database. This negatively impacts the ability to solve crimes and deter offenders. Rapid DNA integration into the booking process ensures all qualifying offender's DNA will be automatically enrolled and searched against DNA from unsolved cases in the U.S. National DNA Index System (NDIS) CODIS database within 90 minutes. When a DNA hit occurs, Rapid DNA at booking will immediately and automatically notify the booking and investigative agency via Nlets.
In this webinar, you will get a behind‑the‑scenes look at the first US Rapid DNA booking with Louisiana State Police Crime Laboratory at the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office and hear from agencies across Louisiana on going live with Rapid DNA and how it is advancing their booking and investigative processes.
