Gibco 60th
1962 – 1972
In the decade that saw the first stem cells cultured and the development of the first commercially available CO2 incubators, Gibco rose to the forefront, providing products to support progress in life sciences. In 1962, Leonard Hayflick made the important discovery that there is a finite capacity for normal human cells to replicate in culture and shortly after, Gibco was founded to make animal sera available for research use.
